During the first 6 to 8 hours of use with our generators we recommend using conventional oil and keeping the generator load under 50% of its rated capacity to assist with the break in period; then after the break in period is complete we'd recommend changing the oil with either synthetic or conventional oil, 5w30 full synthetic oil is suggested for maximum life. If necessary the load break in requirement can be disregarded in an emergency situation.
