Can I Use Synthetic Oil in My Generator?

Yes. Synthetic oil can be used in DuroMax generators after the engine break-in period has been completed.

Recommended Oil Types

After the break-in period, the following synthetic oil viscosities are acceptable:

  • 30W Synthetic Oil

  • 10W-30 Synthetic Oil

  • 5W-30 Synthetic Oil

These oils provide excellent lubrication and can help improve engine performance in a wide range of operating temperatures.

Break-In Period Reminder

Synthetic oil should be used after the initial engine break-in period.

During the break-in period:

  • Follow the oil recommendations listed in your owner’s manual

  • Perform the first oil change at the recommended break-in interval

Benefits of Synthetic Oil

Using synthetic oil may help provide:

  • Improved engine protection

  • Better performance in extreme temperatures

  • Reduced engine wear

Important Note

⚠ Always refer to your generator owner’s manual to confirm the correct oil type and viscosity recommended for your specific generator model.
