Do DuroMax Dual Fuel Generators Run on Liquid or Vapor Propane?

All DuroMax dual fuel generators are designed to operate using propane in vapor form only.

The generators use a propane regulator and hose assembly that converts and regulates the propane to the correct pressure for the engine to operate safely and efficiently.

What Is Vapor Propane?

Propane stored in a tank is kept in liquid form, but it naturally converts to vapor gas as it leaves the tank.

DuroMax generators are designed to use this vaporized propane gas, which is regulated through the included propane hose and regulator.

Important Note

⚠ These generators are not designed to run on liquid propane injection. Supplying propane in liquid form can damage the fuel system and is not supported.

Always use the original propane hose and regulator provided with the generator to ensure proper fuel pressure and safe operation.

Common Questions

Can I connect my generator to a liquid propane supply?

No. The generator must receive propane in vapor form only.

Do I need a special propane tank?

No. Standard propane tanks (such as 20 lb, 30 lb, or larger tanks) naturally provide propane in vapor form, which is compatible with the generator.
